A bear of a man with a black beard going gray at the chin and a face weathered by mountain wind. A long white scar from the corner of his mouth to his ear, courtesy of a Hrodvald axe at Thalmirn in 1127; it pulls his smile into something worse than a scowl. His family has distrusted Hethlend since the Lords' War three centuries ago, and he has inherited the grudge whole. Collects tolls on the passes and keeps more than his share. Loyal to Aldmere, not to the Tulvards. Brave, generous to his own people, unforgiving to everyone else. Neither evil nor good; dangerous when insulted. Would make a fine king, which is the problem.
