Grarañe
The capital of Castavar is a fortress-city on a cliff above the River Llovo, crowned by the great cathedral-fortress of the Vunroldo Jartodo. Here in 312 the goatherd and hermit Fojo of the Llovo proclaimed the Solitary God. The Berrode tells how he climbed the cliff in a storm and heard a voice in the thunder that said nothing. Grarañe gave the Berrode its first Rislo, Cravio of Grarañe, in 655, and it is the seat of House Grarañe, which has ruled since the Twin Crowns. Bitter oranges grow in its palace courtyards, and miners say the silver veins of Puesdro run toward the city because the angels were looking at its cliff. Roads leave it for Puesdro and the Tharaxi Gap and on the royal ring through Corendrosa, Tinoda, Sonvera and Tandosa.
