House of Learning

The great school of Zarvand, founded at Mazbaaran by Khaasar Zhinraad the Learned in 681 and doubled by Avisteer III in his first decade. Its astronomers made the star tables every navigator uses and predicted the comet of 960 to the month; its physicians sell the Khaasar's licensed poppy, and its examinations raised Tartal-i Kebidaan, the first woman to pass them. It is the home of the Celestial Table and the Table party, and its scholars expect to be the first victims of the coming succession war.
