Kingdom Under the Spine

The Kingdom Under the Spine was the united realm of the Dunmorrow holds, proclaimed in 380 by Underking Tunand Deepdelver. It sold steel to all sides and fielded armored heavy infantry that even Tharax respected. In 555 Underking Grarg the Proud refused to sell steel to Castavar and Aldmere unless they paid in gold, and both besieged the holds together; the Dunmorrow were never conquered, but the kingdom was broken back into independent holds. Grarg's hammer is said to have been thrown into the deepest shaft and to be still falling, and when it lands the kingdom will return. Tesk Deepsong, who has been down that shaft, leads the Restorers who want it back. ---
