Rampart March

The frontier province strung along the inside of the Long Rampart, holding the Jade Gate and the Iron Gate. It is garrison country under General Dezau Honmyan, commander of the wall, whose two hundred thousand men live on paddy eels and Rampart soy. Big Rampart oxen haul stone to the wall, and small fierce Rampart hawks nest in its towers. Just outside the wall, in its ditch, live the Rampart Squatters, whom Kaishon does not admit exist.
