Screefolk caves

High on the western face of the Spine above the Greenwarden, the Screefolk, about eight hundred people and nearly extinct, live in cliff-caves they paint with ibex in red ochre. The Dunmorrow say the paintings predate the Underkings. The Screefolk are small, dark and silent, herd chamois and eat lichen, and have no chieftain, only a Painter, always a woman, who keeps the caves. The Waheli trade with them and protect them, and nobody outside the Spine knows they exist.
