Kokrin
The capital of the Jade Dominion and the largest city in the world, with over a million people, laid out in a perfect grid around the vermilion-walled Palace of Measured Harmony. The grid dates from after the Great Fire of 927, which burned a third of the city. In 1019 the head of the rebel Tsehei Yotoke was displayed here for a year, and the peasants say it kept talking. Crickets are bred and fought in the capital's gambling houses, and golden pheasants and lotus fill the palace parks and ponds. On the map the city stands where the Shauho meets the Tsanha, and the annual tribute caravan to the Cherüsh sets out from here.
