Salt Pans

The salt flats on the shore of Lake Shorooq, worked for the salt that is money in the deep desert. In 868 the Zarvani cataphracts charged across the crust of the lake at dawn and broke the Second Crusade here in the Battle of the Salt Pans; King Mairo II of Castavar was captured and ransomed for his weight in silver. The yellow deathstalker, the most venomous creature in Zarvand, hunts on the flats, and only goats will eat the gray salt-bush.
