Southern Reach

The Dominion's southern frontier on the edge of the Verdant Deep, far from Kokrin and governed accordingly. In 1019 its peasants rose under the temple-keeper Tsehei Yotoke to restore the old gods, and were crushed by the Sorogei garrison; every roadside shrine in the Reach now holds a small clay head in his memory. Its magistrate, Tsehei Kaukai, has spent fifteen years turning its mahogany and pepper into personal wealth while keeping the roads good, the granaries full and the jungle garrisons paid. Since 1074 Kaishoni garrisons have pushed into the jungle from here, and Sun-Speaker Ixatl's Tzalan now kill their sentries from the canopy. The Loosened Reins faction grows here, and the Sun and Serpent faith has followers in the Reach.
