Tolmar-Buyor

The camp of Sarsak Tolmar and the seat of the united Cherüsh Horde, pitched in 1141 on the ruins of Tontanor's old capital at the Tontanor fords, a few days' ride down the Tsanha from Lake Surmave. Sarsak named it after killing the last rival olriq in single combat among the ruins and sleeping that night in the dead man's tent. His mother Ghorsan runs its herds, marriages and grudges; Sarsak keeps his books in the Library Tent; and against the warnings of Bagoq the shaman he has begun laying stones where Shaghis sat. Kaishon's tribute caravan comes here every year under Cherüsh escort, the barge-town of Ford's End lies beside it under the Horde's protection, and on the map the road from Lulstat to the Jade Gate and Kokrin runs through it. Some of the Tontanor Ghosts, the scattered descendants of the old charnazin's farmers, are answering Sarsak's call to come home to the ruins.
